Package Overview
This 6 days’ safari includes visiting Sipi Falls found at the edge of Mount Elgon National Park in Eastern Uganda. The Sipi Falls area happens to be the starting point for many hikes up Mt. Elgon. Hikes around the fall offer stunning views of the Karaomja plains, Lake Kyoga and the slopes of Mt. Elgon. The place offers a cooler climate than most parts of the country for which you expect to unwind and chill out away from the hustle and bustle of town.
The other part of this safari includes visiting Kidepo Valley National Park (KVNP) found in Kaabong, the very last district in northeastern Uganda bordering with South-Sudan in the north and Kenya in the east. Expect to be struck by the vast open savannahs only interrupted by distant mountain ranges. The park is endowed with rich wildlife such as Buffalos, Jackson’s Hartebeest, African Elephants, Warthogs, Giraffes, Waterbucks, Zebras and Elands as well as different Bird Species, 58 to be precise. Some 28 of the 86 species of mammals in Kidepo are not found in any other Uganda’s national parks. Animals unique to Kidepo include; the Striped Hyena, Aardwolf, Caracal, Cheetah, Greater and Lesser Kudu, Klipspringer, Dik-dik, Bright’s Gazelle, Chandler’s Mountain Reedbuck and the African Wild Dogs that come into the park from South Sudan, but are not residents.
